4 week, paleo-lite challenge grocery list

Ready to eat like a caveman, or cavewoman? Here’s a list of some ketogenic friendly foods. Remember, we’ll start off light.  I have not completely eliminated the carbs, but I have paired it down.


  • Turkey
  • Chicken
  • Salmon
  • Shrimp
  • Bison
  • Lean beef
  • Turkey bacon
  • Eggs


  • Seasonal berries
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Bananas
  • Melons


  • Mixed greens
  • Baby spinach
  • Leafy, dark greens
  • Peppers
  • Onions
  • Yams or sweet potatoes
  • Brocolli
  • Cauliflower
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Squash
  • Fresh herbs (mint, basil, cilantro, thyme, oregano)


  • Almonds
  • Peacans
  • Walnuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Coconut
  • Almond butter

Limited carbs (eat these at breakfast and avoid the rest of the day):

  • Oatmeal
  • Whole wheat products
  • Quinoa


  • Oils – olive, coconut, sunflower, walnut
  • Organic mayo and other condiments and dressings.

What NOT to buy or eat:

  • White sugar, white flour, white rice
  • Sugar in general
  • No processed foods
  • No peanut butter
  • No legumes (beans, peas)
  • No white potatoes
  • No dairy. That’s right no milk, cheese, yogurt or sour cream
